Hooowee!!!!!!! goosebumps as I write this. It is not easy to impress the gele2 team trust me and Akhiler Benzo sure did. I don’t know this dude and I feel bad about this, I am just happy though that I got plugged to his tunes. A lil bird told me he used to work with Rhangani and has prodcused most of his heats, makes sense when. His sound is very matured, lowu ahi music wa genge, this is the type of music that hits home. Plus loko woku kuma utwe na Black i mihloti ntsee. 80% of vatsonga either grew up with a single parent or a step parent if both, don’t ask me where I got the stats ntaku nyumisa nkosini. The joint speaks about the struggles a young one faces hi mhaka divorce and being raised by Mhani ntsongo (stepmom). Akhiler has that voice that shouts Africa,it gives me chills and I sure did felt his pain. He featured Simefree who is not new to us, and boy did not disappoint nwinoo. I felt him when he said ‘loko papa va hambana na mhani/mhe ni hlawule ku famba na mhani/ku hambana ka vona ava swi tivanga ku mina swini tisela vusiwano…’ this young lad is one of the most promising artists to blow very soon. I must add that I believe this is his best verse ever, it could be because most of the lines are true, ahi tivi but we love it. Leswo rapper rapper almost ruined the song,it was unnecessary and I tell you if the 2nd verse was the 1st I would have deleted the song before I could hear the whole song. Not because the lines are bad, but because he rapped and lost every bit of emotions of the song. This again shows the packaging was thought through and most of genge fails big time when it comes to that. Actually Dala fam u vuli swilo swo dzika in 4 lines than the whole 2nd verse, hambi hito vitaneriwa ti lawyer hivo Dala wee lol. Romeo had no substance, nothing really to rap about, it would have sounded better had he sang because it was his singing part that got me back, ani lahlekile. The BEAT is dope, the CONCEPT is dope too,it is easy to connect and I am impressed hi matirhiselo ya LANGUAGE. This is my Heat of the month, try and beat this genge. Teka link utwa….. #Gasi

HEAT OF THE WEEK
Hosi ya genge na magelegele yi pfuke kahle namuntlha, I think it was influenced by the sound I woke up to. Sometimes ku rhasa rhasa henhla ka mic a swivuli ku endla heat, as xitsonga xi vula ‘kuba ritshurhi ahi ku cina ngopfu’. Blvc Vce came through with a soothing sound this time around, muyisa loyi since a tshika ku rapper he has been sounding proper, he has a dope voice and wa twala swinene. The way you are is his latest single featuring Milqshake, yes this sound is not new (Nigerians and a couple or locals are doing it) but it sounds proper hi xitsonga there is no doubt about that. Cleinbouy, Simefree, Rejoinder na va Ezzi va busy with this sound to name a few, it is easy to listen to and when the song is well written it will surely hit the spot. The QUALITY of this song is proper, the BEAT is a nice slow jam na byi rimbani nyana byo chela ku hisa, thank you to Cleinbouy for that. Concept ya rirhandzu is easy to get away with even if you are saying the same thing over and over again especially when you are singing. I said the latter on purpose, if you listen to the singing verse which is the first one by Blvc you will hear he is not saying much but you can relate but when you listen to the second one, because it is a rap verse, you start to notice that there is nothing really hard being said kova repeat ya ti line said in different ways. Rap ya tika he vavanuna, you gotta rhyme, you gotta give us punchlines and flow must be bananas too, we will easily see through if you are doing the same thing. But this does not make this song less hot, it is our Heat of the week and we dig it, we wish Blvc sticks to this sound because he has a dope voice for it and there is a market too. vhele ra xavisiwa, like i said the last time that if you invest on your shit you will be able to sell it because you know it is worth it aniri.Genge dyondzani mi tshika ku phikizana about who is dope and who is not because at the end of the day we will ask who is making a living out of it, having said that, hina mbodza ha nyenya so you better give us heats regardless. Teka link, play it to your partner and tell him/her you love them just the way they are. Gasini hi laha ninga kona, Genge

Heat of the week
You see when you talk too much/make sure your sound talks as much. don’t be out here talking slick/but still struggle to drop a hit. Mi pfuke ngwenya, by Dboy Ishuu featuring rappers like Gmax, Poetrybusta, and Nigga Kia has been the talk ka Facebook page ya Tsongarap. We had to hunt it down and give it a listen, all we can say is Ishuu to the BEAT, Ishuu tothe HOOK, Ishuu to the opening VERSE. Poetrybusta better known as the flow master did not disappoint, i must again stress kuri ngwena leyi is in his own league when it comes to the usage ya LANGUAGE. Gmax came through as well, I wont say much about him because you already know this guy can go on for the whole verse hi Xitsonga and still kill it, kaneta nitwa?. well the joint is dope and genge yi busy talking about it, but the other half ya genge is touched hi 3rd verse ya NiggaKia because he used lines ta Kwesta nkarhi a vhakele Sway le amerika. ‘1 2 3 ani hetisi ni tsema 4.5’ be the line that genge felt NiggaKia was biting, well yes he did bite unfortunately. here is how we feel about using lines that have been used before, genge please reference them than trying to make them your own or….. just don’t fucken use them at all. ha yingisela music vandzuwe and ahi juteki so you better think twice before you bite. but again, it is just one line in the whole dope song, mina i chose to overlook it. the concept was easy and all rappers followed it to the par, leyi i Heat of the week and if you disagree ask yourself why are you and everyone else is talking about it? ‘vo Mrapper vani endla alarm va lava ku pfuka hi mina’ is my favourite line, ya nyanganya and ya hlekisa at the same time. if you guys want to hear what I am talking about, hit the link below. Kuna Ndzilo xitangeni, what a fresh breath. Who would have thought Tsongarap would sound like this? I mean music lowu ahi wa genge, some classic soulful easy to the ear shit. Okay maybe I am a bit bias because I love this type of sound, that’s what I am into. But gelegele music and being bias don’t go hand in hand so we gonna have to set aside our preferences hi languta ntiyiso. Travolata Salane, I must admit it’s my 1st time listening or hearing about this fella and I must tell you that he’s nice. I must again mention kuri ngwenya spent on this sound,it is so crystal clear. As much as yi valavula hi Ndzilo xitangeni, it is clear he didn’t record in one. The BEAT is insane, classic shit. FLOW is bananas too,I must say though that he has that Lupe Fiasco flows but he really needs to be careful with that, people fall in love more with new sound, new flows, new everything that recycled stuff or ‘sound alike’ niggaz. Pen game(LYRICS) ya ngwenya ahi yale dibini ni, you can tell kuri Salane sat and wrote hayi leswo phutela ti beat ku vula ka Leo Bee. I’m hooked by the HOOK,simple and straight forward hayi swa ba gungu. BUT, Salane will take us back to the debate ya Tsongarap if it is regarded as a movement or a genre because he sounds like a rapper who spits less hi Xitsonga vanhu va hosi and you know la ka gelegele music hi bombisa ririmi. LANGUAGE yona yo totiwa lhaya na lhaya ingaku I xinkwa xo toteliwa nkosini. My take is,whether you look at it as a movement or a genre,ku hava Tsongarap without the proper usage ya ririmi he majita. Does that make this a bad song? Should we crucify him for the lack of language usage? Does this make it a Mbodza of the week? I’d let yall decide but hey,who does it better than gelegele reviews huh. Track I hit majita, swi soulful swilo leswi and it is easy to listen to. I must say ku na quality makes it easy to listen to this joint. I’d love to hear more of Travolata Salane but with more Xitsonga in it,here’s the link genge mi xava. See when you spend on your stuff, you bound to even sell it because you know awu xavisi Mbodza and your product is proper. Dyondzani genge, you can make money out of this but 1st you must invest. HEAT OF THE WEEK
Genge yiri ku dissiwa Mthimbhani in this song…..ma penga na? Mi kahle marha nhlokweni vafo? Mina anaha tshami la mi nga kona. Anyway if there’s beef we will definitely hear Mthimbhani say something hi ku swakudya swale ka makhoma yi swi rhandza ngo ngwenya liya. Vuyakaya let me tell you about a song called Vuyakaya, tshika beef mina na nyama loko u vulavula hi swakudya. Mr ‘I hype myself’ aka BOET (bars over every thing) better known as Leo Bee has made a come back, not because he had left but because he had to shut Genge when it comes to Wordplay, puns and metaphors you name it. And…..he did, here’s your Heat of this week,or should I say of the month because nhweti ya July has been dry nwino,ti heat a ti kala ku fana na gelegele le Palms Chiawelo. Cleinbuoy came through with a dope beat, hardcore,a perfect stage for an MC to showcase his skills. ‘ I got em hooked , se va jike ka Hina ,
damn Se nwana u Nkulu/
U teke na nsati, u kume na n,wana/
well Xikwembu xikulu/’. Hi loko a nghena phela Leo, giving you something to think about. He has a song called Jika ka Hina, an album named Nwana u Nkulu and I heard he has child and a wife, what a skillful way to brag about his accomplishments and still thank God (Xikwembu xikulu). Leo’s place ka tsongarap has been questioned lately by genge, you know mus, genge being genge. And he heard the questions, he answered and was very direct and maybe this is the reason some think it’s a diss song to Mthimbhani unless he’s the whack one making it vanwu vulaku on these lines, hlaya uti twisa nwana tati. ‘Leswo huma hi fastere laka game aniswlavi/No tshama hik fostela na swona aniswlavi/I can’t even dab leswa swag swan tsandza/They succeed while whack ninge hemb swan vava’. We could go on and on with his lyrics to show you the writing skills and why he’s considered one of the best MC’s ka tsongarap, but why waste time if you can rather hear for yourself? The beat is dope, the concept is dope because it is so provocative na genge yi chuhwini, the usage ya language and the emotion is dope too. See why it’s a heat of the week? Tick all the boxes if you want a hit, 1. Beat must be dope, 2. Emotions, 3. Concept vanhu va hosi 4. There’s no tsongarap without LANGUAGE so use it…with these 4( yes there’s more) you can easily get that heat. Teka link, download the jam and play it and if you need lyrics too,ti kona famba hlaya. I must add that his work is organised, dyondzani genge dyondzani. Ni vuyela gasini

HEAT OF THE WEEK: Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso by Macedo
Who said ku hava ti love songs with a message that touches one’s emotions la ka Tsonga Rap? Well whoever did say that needs to listen to Macedo’s Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso, the song connects and it’s rap in done in Xitsonga. This is well orchestrated, I wouldn’t say I’m surprised though because this has been his shxt for 3 years now. What his been doing is to release a song dedicated to his partner and he nails it every time. Himpela wa rhandziwa n’wana Mhani Shivambu #TsongaLove. On Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso Macedo teamed up with Cleinbouy on the beat to give us this soulful Tsonga Rap love song.
So how is Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso heat of the week? Let’s check the 5 fundamentals;
- The BEAT is dope for a love song, less swichayachayani and straight to the point. Vavasati will love this jam, niggas gonna have it on repeat exihundleni.
- The HOOK is a dope sing along, easy to remember and everyone in love can relate.
- The EMOTIONS on this song are real and honest, the boy meant every word he was saying. He makes one wanna fall in love a ta khensa va Mhani n’wingi.
- The LANGUAGE was used fairly although there’s random unnecessary use of xizulu, which does not add any value, hi na wona marito for the words he borrowed ka ririmi ra vo Mfaniseni. At the end of the day hi pusha language gents so it very important to make one hear why do we call this Tsonga Rap.
- Macedo’s DELIVERY is matured and he was smooth with it, phela la ngwenya a yi tiyisa muti so he needed to be audible and gentle kuri na nkata a swi twa coz va endlele yena track leyi.
- He didn’t lose the concept at all, and I am glad his LYRICS ti valavula hi rirhandzu ra ntiyiso.
Ngwenya was serious when he wrote this song and since he ticked off all the fundamentals, we giving this one a 5/5 rating. This is our heat of the week.

HEAT OF THE WEEK: Rain on Me by Madblaq
Madblaq aka Ntsan’wisi has been making waves ever since he broke through the wall ya Tsonga rap, kid is one of the honest artists ka Tsonga rap and by honest I mean, he mostly if not only raps about his life experiences which makes it easy to tap into his music because of the emotional bridge he creates. Which is another thing other artists need to learn, EMOTIONS are very important ka risimu, as a listener I need to be attached like in a story, I need to connect and feel without hearing what u’re saying.
Let’s get into review ya Rain on me from Rap Game Ntsan’wisi EP.
I must say I was very sceptical about it hi mhaka ya HOOK which is in English and it took me close to a minute to tap in, and this is what artists need to learn, no one will give u more than 30 sec so u better capture me sooner. The BEAT redirected me though coz I could tell by it kuri it’s gonna be an emotional song. Again, u need to be very careful when u choose beats when u wanna tap into emotions, the feel of the song needs to go hand in hand with the beat or else mi ta hupa blind.
1st verse proves the power ya LANGUAGE, it is very easy for me to tap into my emotions if u talk to me in my mother’s tongue, home ground advantage a yi tirhi bolweni ntsena. As much as DELIVERY is important, LANGUAGE will make u win or flop. What I am saying is that when u think emotions, think language then u can think of how to deliver. Boy is a rapper, but ka 1st verse he decided to talk to us and he was very smart with the DELIVERY coz he knows he’s not a good singer, he put a lot of emotions in it and the most important part is what he was saying of which to me was important coz at the end of the day your LYRICS communicate to the listener.
Regardless of what one is going through, the 1st verse is a sing along, ‘Jehova pfula ndlelooo/hi dzuka nyuku hi chava ku hluphekooo/u ngaze u huma ndleloo/ku hundzuka swi lava ku pfumela…. ‘. On his 2nd verse he tells u about his life, it might not sound as powerful hi mhaka ya LANGUAGE, but it is a dope verse if u listen to it kahle, and his DELIVERY is slick too. He talks about being depressed and how people laughed at him, and I think this was caused by the loss of his loved ones, if u listen to his mixtape he has songs that he talks about that (may their souls rest in peace). This verse again shows u that music means a lot to this kid, and his brother is doing the most to help him out which is one thing that’s hard when life is against you, trust me I know, maxaka ma ta ku hlekula ku olova loko u ri busy u koka ribye hi tissue yo tsakama.
Back to music, Rain on me has impressed me because of the BEAT, EMOTIONS, LANGUAGE, LYRICS and the DELIVERY which are the 5 fundamentals to a heat song. Hi va nyika 5/5 Boti Madblaq and we hope people are responding well ka Rap Game ntsanwisi EP, here’s the download link: http://xikulu.com/17511

HEAT OF THE WEEK: Mutsonga by Simefree feat. GY GEE
I am yet to hear a song ra ro valavula hi Vutsonga and not mention Giyani, nhova and all that jungle stuff. There’s more we can sing about, from our history and glory. I urge whoever tries something like this to have another angle and teach us something about Vatsonga.
Without taking anything away from this song, which is a very good song. This song represent me, this is what I call Tsonga Trap. I love the fact that they chose this beat. These cats work well together, Mali was just a glimpse and Mutsonga is their full potential.
Simefree is crazy with the hooks, and he’s doing this with ease. Niggas need to learn not to try too hard, rinsimu leri ri ba ndzeni and it’s simple. GY Gee came through with a verse yi nga na substance, he defined with just a 16 kuri Mutsonga I yini, where he comes from, where he got his 1st love for music and yes, katara yi vambiwini la.
I hardly give a song 5/5 but what’s there to subtract ka a good song like this.

HEAT OF THE WEEK: Ava Tshembhi by We Double C Gang
Avani tshembhi loko ni ku Clein has found himself, this boy can easily be competition ya vo Brian Bomba, Vo Henny C na Vo Mash Sarila. Well, the only problem I think he has is he’s not audible in some lines because of his style xo yimbelela, but this is fixable sh*t so no sweat…
Clein teamed up with West Heidik and CVP the Problem, the rapper from Xigalo who is the founder of the Xigalo hip hop show that happens annually. CVP came through on this one even though he was given a short verse but it was direct and straight to the point. One will argue that West Heidik, the dude on the hook owned the jam more than the other two. This is by far the only dude that I believe has a right yo tirhisa auto tune ka Tsonga rap coz he uses it well.
Ava tshembhi is the title of the very 1st track ya vona va ri 3 as a group. They call themselves We double C gang, hambi swivula yini sweswi kumbe hi tweliwa zolo. I believe this group can do more, so we shall wait…
The song ri motivational and all parties understood the concept. The language was used well too and the beat is easy to the ear. It’s a nice sing along and all of that makes it heat of the week with a 4/5 rating. At least this time Clein u ni twile loko ni ku ni karhele hi mbodza wa yena when he teams up with people.

HEAT OF THE WEEK: Mali by Simefree feat. Nceveleza na GY Gee
Simefree Masasani has been making waves hala Vaal, and this time he’s hit home hi track ya yena. Mali has been my favourite since it’s release, but I was concerned when I heard kuri ku na another version featuring Gy Gee coz he’s a rapper. Niggas (rappers) have a way yo teka a good track va endla mbodza hi mhako tiendla vo Lil Wayne. The Gods of music va ve va hoxa xandla, I am happy to tell u kuri rhambu ra khale ri tiyisi rintshwa, GY came through and bagged it – Mali I hit vafo!
I love the fact that it’s melodic, just a couple of kicks and a piano, ivi ri swi vavela nyana and hi ku I January it definitely fits the vibe. This gets 4.8/5 and the 0.2 was taken away for verse ya Simefree, it has to opposing moods – it starts out serious and ends playful. The playful part yi off, it almost ruined vibe ya the whole song but GY Gee u yi vuyisi gereni.
Speaking of GY Gee, na yena i khale a miyelini, I am hoping this song kick starts his mojo so he can give us more music, hi lava vunanga kokwani. Simefree better keep at it and drop nice music as he’s been always. A lot of people will relate to Mali hiku mali helini, plus Magelegele December leyi were serious about drinking niggas clean…
