Kuthwa ‘what happened to the reviews man,we have been releasing and you haven’t been featuring our tracks what’s up?’. Well,we got tired of always releasing timbodza ta nwina so we took our time to search for a Heat of the Week. And yes we finally did get it, Jalter Jay came through with Deeboy hi number number called Driven. Hi tshame hansi hi yingisela, hina va gelegele music hi happy hi Driven and here’s why. Jalter rapped,I was scared lol but boy came through. He switched flows, dropped a couple of dope lines and I was happy that he added more of tsongasauce to it coz let’s be honest, ngwenya is more comfortable hi xinghezi when it comes to his raps, and gelegele music is not ‘Driven’ by that, get it?. The beat is on point, Cleinbouy is comfortable with these soulful beats, and the concept is dope too because it complements the beat.I even felt Jalter’s emotions on his verse ‘today is a new chapter very next day a new one/no stop signs so A luta Continua/. I’m sure you wondering why I am not talking about the second verse, well aniri busy ni gayela verse ya Deeboy majita ishuuuu(fire emojis). Boy gave the song life,he gave it the energy,he gave the song direction and he surely won our hearts. Jalter did the best he could (without taking anything away from his verse),but ngwenya leyi is just on another level vanhu va hosi. I think it’s about time we agree kuri ka Tsongarap Deeboy is the only rapper who has the sting, loko mi kaneta yimisani voko ni vona. I mean come on,his flow is just too much,he’s writing skill is bananas and obviously his rhyme schemes and wordplay ti chavisa valoyi. ‘Awu ta swi Cava njhani kuri ni bloma mpancini/xitarata xa kasi ni xi bambini/..’ here he’s referencing on his previous joint called Ku dess Ku less which he shot a video le mikhukhwini Soshanguve where he resides. Well,I can write a book hi Deeboy coz damn he’s hotter than the the most of yall if not all. Rate ya nghoma leyi 4/5, the usage ya language(Xitsonga)was proper, beat is easy on the ear too,the hook is an easy sing along and because Jalter rapped and he did actually very good. Hina va gelegele session hi happy, nwina ke? Siya mavonelo ka comment section hitwa. Teka gasi and get driven

The line up is exciting, question iku will the performance match the names kumbe it will be a ‘mabena mabena’ performance? Let’s dive in and unpack the jam Janfirst and the gang J kronick, Spacemunna and Mskulie served us. Well, ‘January’ has been claiming the Tsongarap title for a very long time, more like forever without even releasing,hi ku komisa it was all talk no action. Well, here the dude came with cheesy lines and obviously he did what’s expected and that is claim the throne again. ‘I’m untouchable ku fana na cherry ya futa’, ‘when I started a kaya a vaku nleku pengeni now the tables have turned valeku sakeni ku fana na nwana loko ari ku mamemi’ these are some of the cheesy lines First is always throwing at people on his freestyles, I’ve heard them before. He even went as far as saying ‘rap yale xitandini,u rapela mahlangeni ti punchlines ti tsaliwa xtangeni’, if I’m not mistaken na Lesson used these lines before, I wonder who is biting who. What I’m trying to show here is that, First gave us the usual stuff,he didn’t bother writing as hard as he’s capable, this verse doesn’t strike me as ‘mu pfuli wa ndlela ya tsongarap’ kumbe the pioneer as he claims. And we obviously expected him to mention Oskido too, although on that show I believe he’s yet to represent Tsongarap. On the second verse they got Spacemunna, I won’t say much about this fella coz gelegele sessions is more concerned about the language ya Xitsonga….wait, does this mean I shouldn’t have said shit about verse ya January? I mean I only heard Xitsonga here and there in those cheesy lines..fuck let me just go through it ke, Spacemunna got dope flows and shit. Loved it when he said he went from performing to farming just to feed the army,he added my favourite line on the song where he mentions that it doesnt matter which movement you are pushing,we gotta unite and do it for Limpopo, and this line justify why i am reviewing his verse lol. That’s it, leswi swinwana aniswi twangi coz I struggle with the language and him being inaudible as well. But he had better flows than both Janfirst and the lady on the last verse that goes by the name of Mskulie. I have had many praises shem, some even went as far as naming her the Queen of Tsongarap. I did my research and listened to a couple of songs and some I was impressed and some I wasn’t. But here’s what I can tell you about this lady, she can write and I believe she’s most lethal on battle raps and freestyles. In terms of making a good song,I’m still not yet convinced especially when she goes vernac. I believe she raps better in English than vernac, maybe that’s how she started her raps ahi tivi. I’m just happy that she’s trying hard to write more in vernac than anything. On the Ahi fambi remix by Mkwamula aka Dala fam she mentioned something about wanting to quit rap and Dala said no,on this song she mentioned the ‘quit rap’ line again. Wa tati, make up your mind and tell us if you letting go or going forward with it. Can this be the last time please,hi karhele ku tshama ka touchline. All in all,I hope she improves her vernac Pen Game coz gelegele music is really behind that, and we love it. Well, personally I don’t jam with the song but genge might fall for it. Here’s why I don’t like the track, the language is not represented well, the names did not live up to their standard,it’s a good song and that’s it. It doesn’t move me,Janfirst rapped the usual, Mskulie rapped what I feel like it is a ‘I’ve heard before’ raps and she wasn’t really flowing nice with the beat and Spacemunna was just not audible enough. I loved this though, the beat, the flow ya Spacemunna and the hook, although the hook is kinda empty but it is a bit catchy if you play it long enough, you will get caught. We giving this one 3/5 rating. By the way Kronick wa chaya beat, gelegele music is happy with your production. Anyway, here’s the link mitwa hi nwexe…gasi

Ku busy ka Facebook hi nghoma leyi, half say it’s dope and the other vari I mbodza. Well since we have been doing this for a while and we take our time with it, I think we should have a final say. I can almost hear ti voices ta genge, ‘who TF do you think you are’ well the answer is, ni gelegele music and reviews is what I do. Madblaq has been impressive for the past 2 years, project ya Ntsanwini earned him respect and street cred ya genge. He’s got dope flows, he’s beat production has been dope too. Back to the remix, where he has Gmax, Dee Michaels, and Uglyrap. From this line up obviously one expect a dope match, marha at the same time niggaz fumble when they are out to kill each other. Beat and hook is nice, problem i audibility, I mean WTF is Uglyraps saying? He’s got nice flow and the songs changes when he comes on but one need to listen a million times to hear what he’s saying. And yes, we have said this on our previous reviews kuri ngwenya ayi twali…honestly the only audible person on the song is Michaels, and I am impressed by this young fella…he rapped lol. Hiku komisa, 1st 2 verses are dope, Ugly gave us flow but nothing to hear and Mad didn’t put effort compared to his previous work. Packaging wasn’t impressive too, it would sound different if Gmax took the 1st verse alone,Dee shared with Ugly and Mad kills it off. But we know how yall do features, less planning. Mi jahela ku rapper that’s it. This one gets a rate ya 3/5, ra kufumela. I ‘mkufkuf’ swilo leswi. Here’s what others are saying about the joint kuri ninga vambiwi niri ndzexe. As promised, the second song by Ezzi ya Mabibi Ya Mbilu is right here. Madala cried for Rifumo on the last song ya Mutarini and yes it was received well. YI SUKINI: Mthimbhani puts album on hold to attend to beef ya yena na DMS
The war has been declared.

Will DMS answer this time around or what?
If ma tsunduka, Black Coffee said put it in song – I mean putting an end to this beef with music would be amazing for hip hop and for their fans.
Mthimbhani, Mr love songs, u karhele u ri a yi suki once loko yi suka. This time around it will be different because Xphola, used to be on DMS’s team is now with Mthimbhani. Xivutiso i ku, will he leak dirt on his old camp (DMS) kumbe he will stand aside?
Another thing is that I am concerned about Mthimbhani coz he’s putting his album aside for this. Is it worth it? Vhele ka hip hop street cred yi important, but so is the money. Well, hina hi ta yimela tinjamba.
Good luck gentlemen, a ku cakunyanhiwi. Hosi ya genge yo li mbya gasini.
HEAT OF THE WEEK: Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso by Macedo
Who said ku hava ti love songs with a message that touches one’s emotions la ka Tsonga Rap? Well whoever did say that needs to listen to Macedo’s Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso, the song connects and it’s rap in done in Xitsonga. This is well orchestrated, I wouldn’t say I’m surprised though because this has been his shxt for 3 years now. What his been doing is to release a song dedicated to his partner and he nails it every time. Himpela wa rhandziwa n’wana Mhani Shivambu #TsongaLove. On Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso Macedo teamed up with Cleinbouy on the beat to give us this soulful Tsonga Rap love song.
So how is Rirhandzu ra Ntiyiso heat of the week? Let’s check the 5 fundamentals;
- The BEAT is dope for a love song, less swichayachayani and straight to the point. Vavasati will love this jam, niggas gonna have it on repeat exihundleni.
- The HOOK is a dope sing along, easy to remember and everyone in love can relate.
- The EMOTIONS on this song are real and honest, the boy meant every word he was saying. He makes one wanna fall in love a ta khensa va Mhani n’wingi.
- The LANGUAGE was used fairly although there’s random unnecessary use of xizulu, which does not add any value, hi na wona marito for the words he borrowed ka ririmi ra vo Mfaniseni. At the end of the day hi pusha language gents so it very important to make one hear why do we call this Tsonga Rap.
- Macedo’s DELIVERY is matured and he was smooth with it, phela la ngwenya a yi tiyisa muti so he needed to be audible and gentle kuri na nkata a swi twa coz va endlele yena track leyi.
- He didn’t lose the concept at all, and I am glad his LYRICS ti valavula hi rirhandzu ra ntiyiso.
Ngwenya was serious when he wrote this song and since he ticked off all the fundamentals, we giving this one a 5/5 rating. This is our heat of the week.

MBODZA WA VHIKI: Vari Rap Yifile by Triple Tise
By the title of the song one expects know kuri ku va na resurrection with proper bars full of life, kambe ka Vari Rap Yifile rap yi endliwi nsele. I really do not know what Triple Tise was trying to do. You can’t have a title that provocative, a title that says ‘I got this’ ivi I endla mbodza wa so.
These are the songs that give genge the plaak to say ku rap yi fini, i ta ku i yini – “follow your mum to the kitchen and learn how to beef“. I must be honest kuri HOOK is catchy and it flows nice with the BEAT, it’s a dope sing along. But the verses did not do justice to the beat, the hook and the whole concept of the song.
“Vo mrapper a ni va feel/kova ti empty diss/disc..” – Triple Tise clearly has no friends.
Let’s talk about DELIVERY… well it’s off, some lines were rushed and Triple Tise is constantly running after the beat. You can’t have a dope song regardless genre if u don’t tick off all the necessary boxes.
This song I will only give it a 2 for the beat and the hook mara leswi swin’wana I mbodza and I hope Triple Tise does better next time. There’s room for improvement and definitely the boy has potential.
Hosi ya magelegele yi lo mbya egasini…

YI SUKINI: Makheveza to release Manyora along Slim Dee, Dopefella na Raymond
Makhevesa, yin’wani ya Tihosi ta Magelegele and member ya C-siders, together with Slim Dee va hlanganisi manyora for a jam named Manyora. Makhevesa is well known for his kwaito-gangster rap influenced style and controversial lyrics.
I hope this time ngwenya brought his A-game coz yi hlangani na timbyana ta game. The last time I checked vo Dopefella were out of the game, I wonder what made him come back. Let’s hope yi vuye na swa kahle and we hope he hasn’t lost touch. Raymond on the other hand has been making waves and flying the flag ya Tsonga Rap rap hala xilungwini. I hope we the Tsonga Rap fraternity can benefit from his push.
The jam is coming out this month hi ti 21, taken from upcoming mixtape ya the brothers – Makheveza na Slim Dee. We will be waiting, gasi is where we will be in the meantime…
