MUNHU HI VANHU

You can never mention Tsongarap without mentioning Mthimbhani, whether you hate or love him you can not deny the influence he has ka game leyi. We personally do not like the beefs he has with other rappers ( I do not wanna mentions names, a va humesi heat we will talk about them) because we believe together we can break the market for Tsongarap. Together we believe we can do more and we can demand to even get an airplay or even get a Hip-Hop show that represents Tsongarap hayi makabya ya nwina le ka radio station liya ya le!!! Having said that, game ya Tsongarap yi tight and everyone wants the throne so we are bound to witness egos getting bruised. Now back to the song, Munhu Hi Vanhu released by a rapper from Phalaborwa named Mthimbhani AKA hosi ya Genge lol. He has released emotional songs before but this one hits home and Gelegele Music is proud to say that this is our HEAT OF THE WEEK. The team gave the song an 8/10 and below I will explain where the 8 comes from and where the 2 went, hlayani dyondzani and apply na nwina mi ta humesa ti heat hiku mbodza wa nwina hi karhele hi wona. Apparently ngwenya yi xave studio equipment and it is evident ka nghoma leyi kuri QUALITY na yona yi xap, the songs he dropped after he left MMP were a bit off but this one ya pfumela. Although there are a couple of ‘pops’ here and there, so the producer failed him a bit on that. CONTENT yi sasekile, it is a true story so all he needed was to figure out how to lay the message on the beat and he did just that. His LYRICS and the BEAT were touching, he actually made the song cry and the last time a Tsonga rapper did that was NEVER. He went as far as talking about the time he was sick and his girl took care of him, yiri a yi nuhwa but his girl stayed and took care of him. Va faya n’wana vanhu hi xifula a fela ku dlaya mic, vana va valoyi ma hlupha and mona wa nwina wa chavisa. He started a verse aku ‘let me swallow my pride..’ and goes to even mention some of the people he beef’d with, broke up with and some he is not even sure what happened. But what we love the most is the maturity on this joint and instead of complaining about who did what to fuck up the relationship, he just appreciated the time and the help he got from each and everyone of them. Loko kuve ti EMOTIONS on this song do not move you, tiva leswaku u na mbilu yo biha ende yi fana na ya noyi ani! He did not need to drop BARS or PUNCHLINES, all he needed to do was deliver the message and he did that. Hiku komisa, should you need to drop a joint with the same CONCEPT, worry less about dropping bars and puns, deliver the message from the heart we will connect. Everything mentioned above hi laha 8 yi sukaka kona, now I am sure you would like to know where is the 2. Yingisela, dyondza and apply na wena u ta wisa ku chaya mbodza. This might sound like we are reviewing the artist than the song, but how do we separate the two? It is obvious that as soon as you become famous people will judge you or compare your recent work to your previous. Your capabilities influence our expectations so as unfair as this sounds, this will never change. LANGUAGE yi xap, however Mthimbhani always rhymes hi English and this has become a trend in most if not all of his songs. I am not sure if he is lacking ka vocabulary ya yena ya Xitsonga but he has always rhymed, punched or threw bars hi english ka vunanga bya yena and gelegele team would love to challenge him to change/improve this. The second issue we had was his FLOW, if you do not know him this sounds dope, like I said we can not separate the song from the artist, this to us is a typical Mthimbhani flow. 8 is a distinction, we had to mention where the 2 went marha a swi vuli kuri nghoma ayi cheli ku hisa. This is a HEAT OF THE WEEK and ahi chuhwangi to say so, anyway he MTHIMBHANI Xphola did nothing vhele for wena  kumbe hiswi tshika? hita yingisela ka radio nhlamulo ya wena, get the song on the link below. Speaking of links, why would genge go out of their way to report links every time Mthimbhani drops a joint? Beef is part of the game but nwina se mi onha culture and we would like you to stop that shit. Do not be a sore loser, and I hope this link will not be reported also. GENGE!!!!!!!!!!

XIKWEMBU XALE BUSH

I do not remember the last time I listened to a song with a fear of missing a line, you know that feeling that makes you wanna hold a speaker next to your ear? yup, that was me listening to this joint. DSK is a rapper from Bushbuckridge and he is definitely claiming his hometown for real. A Bush, le a Mpumalanga where they whistle loko va valavula xitsonga. What a beautiful dialect, one of my favorite ka ti-dialect ta Xitsonga. DSK is claiming kuri yena hi yena Xikwembu Xale Bush when it comes to this TSONGARAP ish, and gelegele music team could not help but agree with him. This is our HEAT OF THE WEEK and we would like to take you through the path we used to get here, yingisela u tshika kuva dzinga-ndeve. Xo sungula, BEAT leyi a yi twali kuri ya mbeya? do we really have to spell it out marha. The type of beat that makes you wanna hit the road and run, or lift some heavy weights nwina mi rhandzaku tinsimbhi. Xiyisa lexi made sure to hit you bar after bar and punchline after punchline topped up with an amazing energy. This is how you prove kuri u Xikwembu a kasi ra wena not hi mbodza kumbe beef. ‘tolo ani rhinga na Jesu uri hita hlangana crossini(cross)’is a crazy line that made me rewind and start over the song, then I heard a slang xo chela ku hisa just when the song started. ‘lo mfana lo funa mina lo mali la first’ hahaha WTF is he saying? ‘who cares?, shit is provocative’ ku vula gelegele. He goes again and say you can not go toe to toe with him hi ku ‘uta fana na vhilwa ra movha u helela ndleleni’ need I say more kumbe wa pfumela kuri DSK i XIkwembu Xale Bush?. Well if you do not agree, gelegele music challenges you to drop something better. Although I do not personally love the CONCEPT hiku is a typical rapper’s concept, the team feels like it was fitting because he was challenging anyone and everyone who thinks otherwise about his THRONE le a Bush. FLOW is too easy and it compliments the beat and his energy, and because this is your typical ‘performance song’ the EMOTIONS were easy to tap into. In fact the energy triggers the EMOTIONS and when it comes to DSK you can never doubt his energy. This is actually the team’s favorite song because the usage ya LANGUAGE ya XITSONGA was 100% and it has been a while since we had a jam like this. The team named this song our HEAT OF THE WEEK with an 8/10 rating, and that is pretty impressive. Byela DSK ata hlamusela kuri leswa ‘lo mfana lo mfana’ swivula yini hiku swi chela ku hisa. Xikwembu Xa ti Reviews xi gimeta kwala, hita hlangana ka ti comments. Gasi!!!!!!!!!!!

UNI ENDLA YINI

Gelegele Music took a Shot’Left hi ya jika le ka Xigalo, yes we know mihleketa magelegele ma le 2BY2 ( a famous tarven) when we mention the village. But no majita ahi yela ti heat, CVP THE PROBLEM is a rapper from the very same hood. He should be the Hosi YA Magelegele but ngwenya yiti komba ingaku ya chava vavasati, anyway that is a topic for another day. We went there hi mhaka ya mali, and we got an idea of how she(money) looks like. Uni Endla Yini is CVP’s latest release featuring Leo Bee who is also not new in the game. On paper, this is a dope song because both these artists are great ka movement and genre ya TSONGARAP. Could have been a heat, could have been mbodza wa vhiki but neither, so you know that only means this is our IN BETWEEN YA VHIKI and here is why. The team was not really impressed hi QUALITY ya joint considering the names behind it starting from the producer and the artists, we are not sure if it is the mastering or perhaps the studio recorded at but it does not meet their caliber. I really loved the intro of the song though haha, Leo Bee sounding like a Shoprite employee whilst CVP an angry client on the queue with cash is classic. The BEAT is dope and I loved the transition and it allowed the song to breathe and elevate at the right places, Jnz Beats did very well. The HOOK is not catchy enough, it is kinda plain and I expected that considering that both these rappers are hardcore rappers. One could say they could not wait to get into their raps so they rushed the hook, or should I say they did not put more work/words on it.  CONCEPT yi chela ku hisa and we can all relate to it, and the dope move was personifying mali so it allowed them to address it/her hi ndlela ya catchy. There are two things the team noticed from CVP’s verse and was not impressed about, xo sungula is the usage ya LANGUAGE. We feel he delivers the message better hi XITSONGA and it sounds interesting than he does in English, and xa vumbirhi is the way he recorded. Yes we love the energy but he recorded like he is performing and you can hear him lose his breath here and there. So he needs to come up with a way of keeping the energy whilst controlling his breathing which is where his producer was supposed to come in and help. Leo Bee was average, he did not go as hard and I expected these two to go at it like crazy, maybe it is the concept of the song who knows?. However when it comes to FLOW and BARZ, both these rappers did not disappoint. The song is not bad, it just did not meet our expectations because we know both these names and what they are capable of. Did we expect too much? are we being too hard on them? would this song be a heat if recorded by a less known artist? kumbe hi mhaka kuri ro xavisa so we expected more than average?  MAYBE!!!. Well tell us what you think on the comment section, team yi hume na score xa 5/10 which makes it our IN BETWEEN YA VHIKI. Xava nghoma on the link below uti twela hi wexe, relax it is only R5 and since you claim to support TSONGARAP you can now put your money where your mouth is. ‘loko munhu ari hava mali a suki layinini phela hina hi siyi vanhu le handle’ ku vula CVP a jaheli magelegele ma le 2BY2. Hina hita vuyela gasini hi vito ra gelegele music.

UTANI TSUNDZUKA

What a breath of fresh air, the team ya gelegele music has been waiting for this sound for a very long time. loko hi vulavula hi Xitsonga Urban Music hi vula swilo swo fana na leswi, and I am glad I have a perfect example. Lady Presh, who is not really new in the game, she has released a couple of nice joints a while back. She has given us something new, something fresh and definitely something to brag about. The last time I heard a pure RnB song from Mutsonga was by TK Mhinga, may her soul RIP. Lady Presh gave us a traditional RnB song, starting from a BEAT selection to the CONTENT (concept). Swa ma love love i swilo swa RnB, unfortunately la aku tshikiwa bhari. This is a sad love song where she speaks about letting go, since ngwenya ayi tsandzeka ku tsakisa wa tati, she is threatening to leave his ass. Utani Tsundzuka is our HEAT OF THE WEEK and here below we will give you the reasons why it is, having said that, we do have a couple of concerns that we feel she and her producers Mellowkid and Subzer could have done better. The QUALITY is very good, you can actually hear every single line and also her vocals are balanced and sounds easy on the beat. The CONCEPT is a typical RnB concept and she played safe which is the right thing considering kuri mjolo wu hi mbeya hinkwerhu so it is easy to connect to. The LANGUAGE u hi tsoni nyana sesi, if you listen well the lines that hit home are written hi XITSONGA and they are more powerful, I am here imagining this song hi XITSONGA from the 1st line to the last. However this does not mean the the lyrics are bad, I just feel like they would have been 10 times better if she gave us 80% ya Xitsonga then 20% ya English. Her FLOW went in smoothly with the BEAT also, S/O to Subzer on that as well. The only issue we had a problem with was the usage ya auto tune, it is not necessary to have more of it if the lady can sing without it. It also made the song lose EMOTIONS, if you do not listen carefully you would think that this is a happy song. Her voice is not sad enough, the emotions lacked and the team feels like the auto tune did not help but worsen the situation as well. But the team rated the song 7/10 which means with all these concerns it is still our HEAT OF THE WEEK. Listen to the song below and tell us what you think on the comment section. Hosi ya magelegele ya vulavula!!!!!

XATI FELA

I have heard a couple of times Blvc Vce (pronounced Black Ace) say this sound is not his comfort zone, or it is different to what he is used to. And for the second or third time the team ya gelegele music is saying kuri either jaha leri ri chava ku endla ti hit or he must tap out of his comfort zone because every time he does so u endla ti hit. 1st it was a hit called Vuya, a song with a lady with a beautiful voice MissK, Blvc Vce ‘this is outta my comfort zone’ sweswi i Xati Fela and that nigga is still saying the same thing. Kumbe yo tonga ku tiva mani, whatever the reason is hina hiri your ‘this is not my comfort zone’is your hit zone so stick to it. Urban Music wa Xitsonga ahi vuli Hip Hop ntsena kumbe House Music, hi vulavula hi vunanga bya so. Now before hi hangalaka let us give you reasons why Xati Fela is our HEAT OF THE WEEK. 1st is the BEAT, easy to the ear with less complications and when you think of this on a live set swilo swinga dlaya. 2nd is the CONCEPT, yes it has been used before but the approach is different and the LANGUAGE is not formal, he used our day to day slang (which is what we love too,if you read our reviews you will pick up kuri swa grammar kumbe xilungu xo dlaya ahi xikoti hina and ahi na mhaka lol). And one thing he has been consistent on i QUALITY and he is very audible which makes it easy to listen to. Although I must mention that I was not entirely happy hi ti BackUps ta the lady featured Hopey B,they were a bit loud and sometimes it was hard to hear her beautiful voice go,and I personally feel she was holding back. I was expecting her to burst out and elevate the song, am I sounding like Randall now ni swi tshika because leyi ahi IDOLS i Gelegele Music? Alright ke, listen to the song on link and tell us what you think. Hina hiri i HEAT OF THE WEEK marha ani nwina swilo swa kahle ma chava. Hosi ya Magelegele ya vulavula.

Ngholovhani

If they ask how Tsongatrap sounds, or perhaps they want to know kuri i mani who can represent it better, make sure to mention Simefree ha twana?. And he has been consistent phela, ango mbambela ani, xo swikota he nwina lol. Phela hi happy hala ka gelegele music hi mintirho ya jaha leri, and from what genge say about him, he is one humble kid who is always about his work. Ngholovhani is his latest offering, a motivational song that one gotta jam to loko  ari ku kokeni ka ribyi hi tissue. From Akutleleki (his previous heat), I thought he was going to have a difficult time giving us something bigger, guess what, he gave us something better. BEAT selection has always been on point, CONTENT yi chela ku hisa, FLOW yo rhelela he nwana madala and he switches em nicely xem, ende na HOOK yi koka rinoko nwinoo!!!. This is easily a HEAT OF THE WEEK, he has ticked all the boxes. This is what we call Tsongtrap la mutini and we will stick by it, the LANGUAGE needs to stand out 1st. Two things I love about Simefree, 1st iku his usage ya auto tune ayi tunguli and secondly his content is relatable whether on a happy or a sad song. We have said this before and we will say it again, this boy will change the game loko swi fika ka Tsongatrap. Not sure if it is good or bad,  but the song has been made available for ti cheese-boy leti to xava kumbe ku stream (all online stores) and also available for hina vo-malambhani le ka skheto.com. link hi leyi kwala hansi, wo hiya chovha Ngholovhani hina.

Bheka Mina

Many wondered where Brian Bomba was, I too did. This dude was known/played from Matiyani to Kwa-zulu Natal, his music was played by the young and the old. What an impact he had with his heat song Yellow Bone,oh what a time. Genge ya MLFM would not have an event without this dude headlining, he scooped a lot of awards too. He is an artist that saw, smelled and lived the fame life so trust me he has been there, which is without a doubt the main reason we had to get our hands on the newly released song by Rural Dreams called Bheka Mina. Hi hlamele kuri Rural Dreams ivo mani na hina,so we went out searching kuri hinga babameli, but ahi kumanga nchumu so hito babamela. Hina hi tiva Dee En Kay na Krazy-boy magaraba ntsena and we wish to find out kuri the 3rd member i mani. This was so close to be MBODZA YA VHIKI as much as it was to be the HEAT OF THE WEEK, I have never been this confused by a joint before. The BEAT is fire, easy to jam to, The HOOK is dope too, nwana Mhani MADYA KU BOMBA wa yimbelela swinene. He is so natural with it, he kept the song alive with his back ups also. Yup, that is the only thing I can say about the song, the BEAT and the HOOK. As for the verses, the raps did not hit home and I felt like the content is immature. Vafana va tsandzeka ku gangisa wansati? phela that is all that was needed, every line used on the verses is either very childish, something one has heard before or has nothing to show kuri kuna Bheka Mina xikarhi. This means it is not relatable, and when you try to compare songs with the same concept this is a bit weak. I am not saying this ku kandziyela majita but sometimes raps mess up joints like this,hi ku komisa it lacked EMOTIONS because niggaz wanted to RHYME more, tried hard to PUNCHLINE but forgot to lace words that even people who do not love hip hop can fuck with. Henny C (Phindha futhe), General Muzka( Wani Vambhela), and Paul Ndlovu(Hi ta Famba Moyeni) are some of the songs I think of under the same concept, I can throw in Yellow Bone too by Brian Mbomba. It is not a bad song, it is just not a great song especially looking at the names on it, and I also wanted to hear a verse by Brian, na swona va hi tsonile. A part of me feels like it was rushed, or maybe Briam Mbomba overwhelmed genge ahi tivi. Having said that, loko wo ri tlanga ka mbirhi ka nharhu you end up loving it because the hook is such a sing along. Your thoughts ka comment section hitwa, #gasini

HEAT OF THE WEEK

Few weeks ago Gele2 promised to not go away for a long time again, however the team also said the only reason for them to stay with you i ti-hits ntsena. hai, swiyi tsandza genge ahi mbodza ahi mbodza. Mthimbani paid for our stay with his latest release Dont Cross The Line (remix). This song and other remixes by artists like Cleinbouy na Dboy Ishu is the reason I believe kuri Tsongarap ya hanya, having said that, it is also the reason I think genge ya tsongarap yi lazy blind. Mi tiyisa voko(pen game) only on remixes or features, a lot of you do not even have songs on/of your own. If we had to listen to your songs individually hita twa mbodza, and again you guys are the reason we are not growing as fast as we should. Back to the song, I for one wouldn’t say the whole song is dope because there are really some WHACK verses and Mthimbani a fane a tiye nhlana a humesa thyaka but then again I believe a chava ku onha vuxaka. Sounds like a game of 2 halves so,swava Kaizer Chiefs na Pirates so. And you are forced to listen to the whole song, one verse is dope, the next is whack and then before you know it another is hitting you with dope lines and flow. I wont be mentioning rappers who were dope or rappers who were whack. But it would be lazy of me to not mention the 1st 3 verses. Mthimbani actually surprised me, we know he has the energy, anger and emotions on all his songs but bars???man he came with BARZ, he was spot on with each and every line. Krazboy and Nigga Young have become my favorites lately and I’d love to hear their own shit some day. DalaFam came in with some facts, he made it clear he still got it. He bragged a lot because he got the rights to, love the flow and the energy also. My favorite was Simefree, boy changed the fucking whole song when he came in and he is not even a rapper lol. S/O to Deona,it is relieving to know that we got few ladies in the house who can actually hold it down like she did. All she needs to do now is to be audible, I can not connect most of your lines although I was loving the energy and flow. I would love to hook her up na Ezzi (he is gonna kill me for this but fuck it, they would make one dope ‘HipPop’ song together).Wait, looks like I started mentioning what I said I wouldn’t so wo ni huma so. By the way, Mthimbani you said Ezzi was gonna be part of the track, kumbe yilo chuhwa ngwenya liya ya C-siders? hahaha we back, please do not chase us away again and if you try to do that,we going to name and shame you ka MBODZA WA VHIKI. Hosi ya Magelegele ya vulavula, tsiiiii!!!!!!!
